Happy New Year from me and my siblings!
2014’s finally here! Time sure flies when you’re wasting your life (kidding!) But seriously, 2013 went by REALLY fast! I can’t believe I’m turning 19 in two months! I can still remember every single thing that took place on my 18th birthday 10 months ago…. Anyway!
I spent my New Year’s Eve at home with the family, just like the usual.. fireworks, good food, loud music, etc. And since I haven’t cooked anything for the family this whole 3-week Christmas staycation (I was too busy catching up on sleep!) I’ve decided to make some desserts(?) on New Year’s Eve for us to enjoy. I made ‘brown sugar cupcakes with butterscotch filling and vanilla frosting’ and ‘mango x Bacardi crepe’. I’m so glad they turned out good! The family liked it *wink* and it’s something to be REALLY grateful for, for it only happens once in a blue moon.
Looking back at my 2013 planner-diary, I conclude that 2013 kind of flipped right round for me.. It was a pretty good year though! As I read the things I wrote on my planner; 60% of them were school-related stuff while the other 40% were all let’s say things-in-connection-with-my-non-existent-love-life. Well if you are my frequent blog visitor I assume you have an idea on what my life has gone through the past year! Can’t honestly blame you if you think my life sucks, well not all the time but.. yes it does.
Even so, I’ve learned a lot from the shitty circumstances I’ve been through and the shitty things life threw at me; I learned that..
- Things won’t always turn out according to plan or the way you want it to be. And sometimes, you got nothing to do but just accept it.
- Some people are not meant to stay in our lives. As much as we want them to stay, they will go when they gotta go. This year proved to me that the popular saying, People come and go, is indeed true. Even the people you care about the most can simply just walk out of your life. Be that as it may, those people come to our lives to teach us something.
- Learn to appreciate the things you have. You gotta be contented on what’s given to you, and that you shouldn’t ask/demand for more than what you deserve. Be grateful!
- People will let you down; and at times, there will be no one left to lean on but yourself. People change, for better or for worse; it’s inevitable.
- Believe in yourself and your capability of doing things, because if not, then who will?
- Don’t take people for granted. One day you will need them and they might not be there for you anymore.
- Always look on the positive side. Always look for the good in the bad. Don’t wallow in negativity owing to the fact that it’ll just make things worse – tested and proven. (Do I even realize the irony of me saying such things like this? Lol)
- Stay strong no matter what. As the cliche saying goes; life has ups and downs. You win some, you lose some. C’est la vie! Still and all, you have to keep a good attitude and mindset to push through whatever life throws at you. You don’t just simply give up when things get hard; you have to be strong enough to get over it. You know what they say, things will get worse before they get better. 🙂
And the most valuable lesson in 2013? Don’t be afraid to try new things. Learn to step out of your comfort zone; You have to do something new to get new results! Stay open to new experiences and say YES to life. Life has so many good things to offer! And I cannot wait to explore more and experience new things in the future. 🙂 I hope you guys are, too!
Resolutions… I personally think New Year’s resolutions are lame since people don’t keep them anyway. That “New year, New me” thing is…… dumb. (NO OFFENSE!) I mean come on, you don’t need a new year to change yourself; change should be done the minute you realize you need it. And let’s be real here, you’re still gonna be the same (insert offensive adjective here) like you were last year.
Anyway I do hope you all are having a lovely start to your new year! Cheers to 2014!!!! And here’s to the people that don’t need a new year to make a change in their lives! Let’s stop that ‘New Year, New Me’ bullish**, shall we?

Thanks for this blog. As you may know..I’m depress right now because of the people around me. I feel alone. Although I never show or tell it to anyone, I can feel the pressure in my chest. Hay, buhay nga naman. I’m an optimists, but I think I reached my limit. This blog entry reminded me again to keep a level head. Kaya ko to..Kaya ko ito. I am my own captain, I sail my own ship, and I choose the path to happiness and peace of mind.
