A wallow in nostalgia

It’s weird.. how everything they had just slipped away.
It’s sad.. how he simply decided to just let her walk away.

She thinks of him everyday. No matter how hard she forces herself not to, it just won’t work. And it never will.
Every time she spends hours of darkness alone, lying in her bed, listening to the same song dozens of times to make her fall asleep, he is always the first thing and the only thing that comes to her mind. And instead of helping her doze off, it does the opposite. It keeps her awake; it is 2AM and she is left alone with her thoughts. She casts her mind back to the moments they shared together, the laughter, the memories, the stories and the sorrow.. it all comes rushing back.

Sometimes she finds herself crying, and it’s normal; to miss someone so much it makes you want to break down. Tears start streaming down her face as she starts reminiscing the things they used to have.

They were so happy back then, they didn’t care about anything else besides themselves. About what they have and what they are going to have. They tell each other the most random and awkward things, even if it does not make even a bit sense anymore. They talk through the phone until dawn, they sometimes don’t even bother hanging up anymore.

She may never know quite what to say when he is upset, and it tears her apart that she cannot always help him. Especially in times when he calls her at night, and she hears him cry. It makes her sad, the fact that he has always been the one to bring her up when she was down, but she cannot do anything to not let him drown.

Just know that she will always be there for you. And if you ever feel lonely at four in the morning, she will be there to talk to you. Know that she is aware of your pain, and all the sadness you have, and that she is willing to help you carry it. Just know that she loves you.

After all she isn’t depressed. She might be upset today but you’ll see her smiling tomorrow. Because she is the girl that hopes for a better day, the one who still (somehow) manages to look on the bright side even when it seems too dark. Because she knows deep down in herself that everything is going to be okay.

and their story has not ended.. yet.

PS: she misses you… so damn much
